The Center is looking forward to Jim's affiliation and keeping up with his many scholarly conference and speaking engagements to come. The entire staff of the Center for Leadership Studies and Educational Research is grateful for his rigorous teaching commitment that exemplifies and embodies academic success. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento and a Masters of Arts degree in Management from Webster University, St. Shortly after his retirement, he worked for General Motors as a Security Chief providing protection for the two Cadillac plants in Lansing, Michigan. His assignments included tours to six stateside Air Force Installations and an overseas assignment to Tokyo, Japan. As a Security Police Commander, he provided leadership to over five hundred personnel, managed a “large scale” Resource Protection program for multi-billion-dollar Department of Defense assets, and established Total Quality Management initiatives resulting in the “Best Medium-Size Security Police Unit” in the Pacific Theatre. Jim is a retired United States Air Force Officer with over twenty-seven years of military service. Jim began his higher education teaching career in 2001 as an adjunct professor and taught numerous courses in Management for many colleges and universities. The Excellence in Teaching Award celebrates the faculty member who possesses exceptional dedication to mentoring and engaging students, demonstrate mastery of effective learning delivery methods, and is a recognized expert in their field. Davenport University has selected Jim for its coveted “Excellence in Teaching” award where he is a full-time business management instructor for the Lansing and Grand Rapids, Michigan campuses. The National Forest Centre in Zvolen is a further project that was selected among the 13 best projects.School of Advanced Studies Student Jim Turner, on the cusp of earning his University of Phoenix Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership degree (A Heuristic Study of Servant Leadership in the Military) has much to celebrate this fall. Alexander Dubcek with the FunGLASS project at the University of Trenčin also succeeded in the Teaming scheme of the Horizont 2020 program which will focus on research on the industrially usable surface properties of glass. The CEMEA project is worth 30 million euro. As a Platinum Partner in the SAS Partner Program, Capgeminis distinction is based on our investments and capabilities in SAS, including competency badges in. "In the CEMEA project we will focus on basic research (materials research and nanotechnology, biomedicine and biotechnology, sustainable energy), applied research (technology transfer) as well as training and an educational program for young researchers", added Vice SAS Ing. The center will largely cooperate internationally and will actively participate with local industry on the domestic level. The results this research centre will bring will be used by Slovakia as part of research and innovation strategy for smart specialization (RIS3). The Academy is working on this project together with the VTT Technical Research Centre in Finland and the University of Helsinki. In practice, this should mean that in our country will continue to pursue quality research in advanced materials to be used in biomedicine, biotechnology and sustainable energy. The Slovak Academy of Sciences can now set up an Institute which will carry out quality research, but more importantly, much attention will be paid to the transfer of knowledge into practice,"explained the chairman of the Slovak Academy of Sciences Prof. "In the face of serious competition from all European countries three Slovak projects have stood out, from this point of view we are the only country that had so many successful projects. The success of the project is attributed to its high level and excellence. The CEMEA project aims at establishing a joint Centre of Excellence for advanced materials application. Of the more than 150 European projects selected, the CEMEA project was also chosen by experts among the first thirteen. The Slovak Academy of Sciences has undergone rigorous evaluation as part of the Teaming scheme by the European Commission.
